Near Threatened

Some of my shots of the bird with some interesting facts.

This stork is a tree -nesting wading bird usually found near wetlands.

It primarily feeds on amphibians, reptiles and insects.

The stork depends on moving between thermals of hot air for sustained long distance flight.

The height of the woolly-necked can go up to 4 feet.

The good news is that the population of Woolly-necked stork is bouncing back and now the conservation status of this stork has been moved from “Vulnerable” to “Near Threatened”
